JMN Logistics Enhances Social Media Presence

St. Louis, Aug. 26, 2009 – In an effort to better engage and educate its customers, JMN Logistics, a national leader providing quality auto transportation services, is now posting updates through its Facebook, Twitter and Auttr accounts.

“We wanted to expand our customer base and utilize technology and new media to help get the word out about who we are and what we do,” said Kirsten Becker, who will manage social media for the company. “Initially, we’ll be catching up by posting recent press release announcements, but after that we’ll be informing our followers about new sales promotions, staff updates, upcoming tradeshows and more.”

Facebook has an estimated 200 million users worldwide. Twitter, the fast-growing micro-blogging service, has more than 7 million members. Although lesser known among the general public, Auttr is a social networking site specifically designed for the auto industry. Auttr allows registered users to read articles, post and answer questions, view videos, subscribe to RSS feeds, and more.

Becker notes that JMN is also utilizing social media to monitor industry trends and comments, and to reply to customer inquiries. “We’re already getting responses to some of our tweets,” she said. “We also plan to post helpful hints, things that people might not know about automotive transport and logistics. There will definitely be an educational component to our social media outreach that will help our customers understand the industry better.”

“JMN has always been a leader in terms of optimizing Web technology,” said William Billiter, JMN’s general manager. “Things are happening in our industry at a much faster pace than they use to, and social media will help us get the news out to our followers as quickly as possible.”
