| Q: |
What is door-to-door service? |
| A: |
Door-to-door means the car transport driver will get as close to your door as legally and safe as possible. Many cities have restrictions on large trucks that prohibit them from going into residential areas. Most of our transporters are huge and need a large area to turn around, so if access to your home is restricted by narrow streets, low-hanging trees, electrical lines, etc., the driver may ask you to meet the truck in a nearby parking lot where it is safe to load or unload. |
| Q: |
How do I pay for my shipment? |
| A: |
If you pay in full with your order, you can use any method you choose (i.e., Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, or any type of certified funds). Usually we require a minimum deposit to process your order. If you pay a deposit, the balance is due COD, in cash or certified funds. No other form of payment is accepted on delivery. If you wish to make payment in full by credit card, it must be paid in advance when the order is submitted. We can provide credit terms for our repeat customers. |
| Q: |
Can I put items in my vehicle? |
| A: |
You can put soft items such as bedding, clothing, etc. Not only are items not insured during transport, but the DOT regulates what can be transported. Auto transport companies are not permitted to transport household goods. The DOT can fine a transporter $10,000 if found to be carrying household goods. Moving companies are the only companies licensed to transport household goods. No firearms, hazardous materials, or illegal contraband are allowed at any time. |
| Q: |
Do I have to be present for pick up or delivery? |
| A: |
Yes, you or someone you designate needs to be present to review the inspection with the driver. Do not sign the inspection upon delivery until you are satisfied that the condition is the same on the receiving end. Once the receiving document is signed, it finalizes the delivery. |
| Q: |
When will you pick up my vehicle? |
| A: |
We are an ASAP (as soon as possible) company. It is normally within a couple of days but can take up 10 days for pick up during peak times. It all depends on truck availability and where the vehicle is picking up or delivering. Some areas like Florida and California have seasonal peak times. When it is during those peak times, the trucks can be scheduled as far out as 30 days. This means we have to wait for a cancellation or expedite a truck for pick up. There is an additional fee for expedited pick ups, but if you have time restrictions, we will do everything possible to make it happen. |
| Q: |
How long does it take once my vehicle is picked up? |
| A: |
A Transit time depends on where your vehicle is shipping from and to. The Department of Transportation regulates the number of hours a driver is allowed to drive on a daily basis, weather conditions, road conditions, and other customer schedules all are a factor in the time frame. If the distance for transport is 1,000+ miles please allow 7 to 10 days for delivery. If the distance is less than 1,000 miles it can usually be within about 3 to 5 days. |
